The people who
break it first.
Every build is run on the devices below before it reaches anyone else. When a release does not crash on your phone, it is usually because it crashed on one of theirs.
Credits, in no particular order.
Approved devices and the people holding them. Names are shown as they appear in Discord; nothing here identifies a device.
What the badge actually buys you.
Access and influence, not decoration. The list is short because it is the whole list.
Run the build before anyone else
01Release candidates land in the testing channel first. Testers install them on real hardware and say whether the thing boots.
Keep playing during forced updates
02A mandatory update locks everyone else out until they install it. Approved devices skip that gate so testing does not stop.
File reports that can be acted on
03Device model, Android version, what you did, and the crash log. That is the whole difference between a fixed bug and a shrug.
Argue about what ships
04Testers see the roadmap early and push back on it. Several features exist, and a few do not, because of that.
Get noticed, then apply.
Testers are picked, not accepted at random. The Discord is where the picking happens; the form below is the formal step.
- 01
Join the Discord
Everything runs through it. There is no separate application queue to sit in.
- 02
Be useful in #support
Answer questions, reproduce other people's crashes, post logs. This is the part that gets noticed.
- 03
Report a real bug properly
One well-written report with a log and a device model says more than any application ever could.
- 04
Apply, or get asked
Invites go out from the team when a device is worth having on the roster. You can also put yourself forward with the form below.
Put your device forward.
Applications are read by hand. A specific answer about what you would test, on what hardware, beats a long one.
Nobody will DM you for your HWID.
No member of the team asks for a hardware ID, a password or a payment in direct messages. Anyone who does is not us — report them in the server and move on.
